Sonia Dhairyawan-Carvalho, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing in Manhattan Beach. She provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care for adults and speaks fluent English and conversational Spanish.
She earned her bachelor's degree in biology, with minors in chemistry and psychology, from the University of Miami. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Dr. Dhairyawan-Carvalho's clinical interests include preventive medicine, women's health, and chronic disease management. Her commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations is reflected in her extensive community health engagement, including volunteer work with pediatric patients, hospice care, and health education initiatives. She has also contributed to medical research, including a study on surgical outcomes in pediatric epilepsy at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami.
