Karthik Ram Kode, MD

Dr. Karthik R. Kode is a board-certified critical care physician practicing at Torrance Memorial Health System.

Dr. Kode earned his bachelor's degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he served as chief medical resident. He then pursued fellowship training in multidisciplinary critical care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as part of the clinician-educator track.

Dr. Kode's clinical interests include point-of-care ultrasound and its applications in critical care medicine, as well as the management of patients requiring ECMO support. He developed extensive experience managing ECMO patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and maintains a focus on
advancing critical care education and training an avid traveler who has lived around the world, including in India, the Bay Area and Hawaii, Dr. Kode enjoys swimming, cooking and spending time with his family outside of his medical practice.
