Statement of Need
Substance use disorders and the opioid crisis remain two of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. Beyond addiction and overdose deaths, substance use has significant impacts on physical health, mental health, economic stability, and society as a whole.
Despite the availability of effective, evidence-based treatments, many remain underutilized. This symposium will explore and clarify treatment options for substance use disorders, including medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
