Virtual Care During COVID Crisis

Virtual Care During COVID Crisis

We look forward to seeing you back in our offices soon but for now, while this is not possible, we want to reassure our community Torrance Memorial and Torrance Memorial Physician Network will continue to provide quality health care access for our patients during this challenging COVID-19 pandemic. Our physicians and providers remain committed to being the best source of care and instruction for both the general health and COVID-related needs of you and your families.

Torrance Memorial recently implemented new telemedicine options through its Torrance Memorial Physician Network offices and Urgent Care locations to care for patients during this crisis. Our physician offices are accepting new patients in this capacity, regardless of any existing network affiliation. Same-day appointments are available.

Telemedicine is the use of telecommunications technology to provide real-time health care to patients at a distance. Telemedicine can be delivered using video-conferencing, audio communication, and/or text messaging with mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.

Telemedicine can be provided to a patient at home or at work. Now with mobile devices, the physician or patient can be anywhere there is access to the internet.

When the COVID-19 epidemic is behind us we look forward to resuming our regular in-person office visits as it will always be our preference to see you in person for the most thorough and effective care. You may inquire about a telemedicine appointment by calling 310-891-6717 and speaking to one of our physician referral coordinators. To the right is some important information about how to check-in for your virtual visit.

Tips on how to prepare for a telemedicine visit from Dr. Robert Glazer

  • Find a quiet place in your house. Don’t worry about background household noises
  • Don’t be concerned about your appearance or the background view in your camera
  • Have all your current medicine bottles with you at the time of the visit
  • Have a brief list of your concerns or questions ready
  • Rest assured the visit with your doctor is private. No one but your doctor will see or listen in on your appointment
